Swiftlane allows creating unique PIN codes for different vendors, so that you can easily track the usage of the PIN code over time. This prevent shared PINs and maintains accurate audit logs of access to the building.
In order to find out how to pass the delivery PIN codes to various companies like Amazon, UPS, Fedex, please refer to our help article here
How it works
We recommend creating a different PIN code for each delivery company
Once you create the PIN, ensure that you share the PIN verbally with the drivers on their next trip. Drivers from most delivery companies will note this down in their logs and use it going forward
You can set up a push notification every time these PINs are used
You can also see the PIN usage in the Activity feed
You can generate these PINs through both the mobile app as well as the Admin Dashboard.
Generating a PIN through the Mobile App
Open the Profile Tab to the Right. Click on Visitor Access.
This view will show all the current Passes you have created. You can create a new one by clicking the Plus Icon in Blue.
For deliveries, you should create a Multi Use Code, without any expiration. You can optionally add an End Date to the pass if you would like to auto-revoke it after a period of time. Otherwise, leave the start date and end date empty.
Choose the site:
Complete the fields that seem necessary for your needs.
You can leave these options empty for delivery access. Mark "Notify about usage" true, in order to receive notifications when the PIN is used. You must have granted push notification permissions to Swiftlane.
You can see the PIN usage logs in your intercom usage tab below:
Generating a PIN through the Swiftlane Admin Dashboard
Click on Intercom and Visitor Access
Click on Visitor Passes Tab. Then click - Add Visitor Pass.
You can submit a similar form as mobile, in this admin dashboard screen.
Once the pass is created - you will see an Entry in the Visitor Pass Table
Click on Edit. You will see the PIN code listed, that you can share through any channel with the delivery person.
