Option 1: How to Configure the Door Lock Position
(This step is only applicable if your lock has a toggle on the back assembly. If not, please skip to Option 2.)
Inside the Back Assembly, there is a small toggle switch located at the bottom of the unit.
Configuration Guidelines:
For a Left-hand door, set the toggle switch to “L”.
For a Right-hand door, set the toggle switch to “R”.
Ensure this setting is properly adjusted before completing the installation to avoid operational issues.
Identifying the Configured Door Position
You can verify the configured door lock position by observing the thumbturn orientation in the unlocked position.
If configured correctly for a Left-hand (L) door, the thumbturn will align accordingly in the unlocked position.
If configured correctly for a Right-hand (R) door, the thumbturn orientation will reflect the right-side configuration.
Carefully compare the thumbturn position with the correct L or R configuration before finalizing installation.
Important Notes
Always confirm the door handing before mounting the lock.
Incorrect L/R configuration may cause the motor to operate in reverse.
If the lock behaves incorrectly after installation, recheck the toggle switch position inside the back assembly.

FAQ – Igloo Lock Configuration and Behavior
1. Why is the Igloo lock performing the reverse action?
In some cases, the Igloo lock may perform the reverse action, meaning
When the system sends an unlock command, the lock locks instead.
When the system sends a lock command, the lock unlocks instead.
This usually occurs when the door lock position (L/R configuration) is set incorrectly during installation.
To resolve this issue, the lock position must be reconfigured or recalibrated using one of the methods mentioned earlier in this guide.
2. Should the door be open during the initial configuration?
Yes, it is recommended to keep the door open during the initial configuration and pairing process.
Keeping the door open allows installers to:
Observe the actual movement of the latch or bolt
Confirm whether the lock and unlock directions are correct
Identify any reverse lock behavior immediately
This helps ensure the lock is configured correctly from the beginning.
3. What should be done if the lock was configured incorrectly?
If the lock position was configured incorrectly during installation, the lock may need to be reconfigured from the beginning.
The recommended steps are:
Remove the lock from the existing pairing or configuration.
If a Bridge is connected, first disconnect the lock from the Bridge.
Delete the lock from the system.
Pair the lock again using the Igloo Developer Application.
Calibrate the device position correctly during setup.
Performing the setup again ensures the correct lock orientation and behavior.
4. Why is it important to verify the lock behavior immediately after pairing?
It is highly recommended to test the lock behavior immediately after pairing.
Testing early allows you to:
Confirm the correct lock and unlock movement
Identify reverse behavior instantly
Avoid having to redo the entire configuration later
Ensuring the lock operates correctly at the initial setup stage will save time and prevent additional reconfiguration steps.
